Lamp

In times like these, it’s hard to know the right path. The future seems uncertain. Every news story is doom and gloom. Faith comes hard. Reality hits harder. Fear is everywhere. Doubt is easy. Unbelief seems like the normal. God never said it would be easy. God never said you would always be sure. God never said you wouldn’t have your skepticism. God never said you would always have the answers. He did say that his word would be a lamp. You only need a lamp when it’s dark. So, know that you have light during these dark times. You still can trust the word of God to be a lamp.

Psalm 119:105  (KJV) Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Be Content

Philippians 4:11-13(NIV) I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Verse 13 is a very popular scripture. It is often one that is recited and committed to memory. However, the verses that preceded it give context. The key to contentment is through God. Only God can give peace in hunger and need. Only God can give peace in plenty. Only God can give contentment. If you find yourself struggling in any of these areas, I challenge you to be content. Just maybe the more you're seeking is going to cost you more than you can afford to pay. More may cost you time, money, and peace. Be content. 

Correction

I have never been a fan of rules. I was definitely a child who challenged authority and tested limitations. On the flipside, I despise consequences. I learned at a very early age how to glean wisdom. I learned that I could learn from the mistakes of others. I did not have to repeat the sins of my father or mother. I prayed for wisdom. I prayed that generational curses ended with me. I prayed that I learned the lesson the first time. I've made a lot of mistakes, but for the most part, I haven't made the same mistake twice. Correction is not something we should run from. Correction is wisdom, sometimes wrapped in hard lessons. Correction is God allowing us to change directions. Correction is God saying, "there's a better way." 

Resolve

We don't always know the answer. We don't always see the resolution because the problem appears to be bigger. We have a natural tendency to expect the worst and hope for the best. We are natural negative. We are jaded by our circumstances, but we can do better. We can resolve to do better, to think better, and to be better. We can resolve to see the positive. We can resolve to trust that things will work out for the best. 

Manifest

As a child, I loved hearing creation stories. I was amazed at how much detail was put into our existence. There is so much beauty to admire, from the stars in the sky to the hidden treasures we continue to discover. Life is a beautiful journey of self-discovery. Everyday, we have the ability to create. Everyday, we make choices that manifest our destiny. We possess the power of creation. We have the ability to change our mind and our circumstances with a word. We can use words that empower us or words that hinder us. We can deny our greatness or we can embrace it. We can manifest our hidden treasures or we can keep them buried. We were all created with a purpose in mind. Manifest your purpose. Manifest your destiny. Manifest your dreams. Speak life.
