Uncomfortable
Change is not comfortable. Growth is not comfortable. Progress is not easy, but all of it is worth it. There are a lot of unknowns. There are a lot of questionable moments, but it’s worth it. To achieve your dreams, you must travel in unchartered waters. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. You will be better for it.
Good Love
I can't help but to reflect on yesterday. It was different. It wasn’t a lot of people. We all took all the necessary precautions. We ate. We drank. We napped. We ate again…but it felt different to be together. There wasn’t a lot of conversation about holiday plans. We relished in the day. We were grateful for these moments….together. We realized that tomorrow isn’t promised. We appreciated just being in the same room laughing and eating together. If 2020 hasn’t taught us anything, it has made us appreciate good love. It taught us not to take family and friends for granted. Hug a little longer. Smile a little harder. We just don’t know the next time we will be able to celebrate our victories together. Appreciate the moments to share good love!
Greater Than
God is greater. Period. Point blank. It doesn't matter what it is. It doesn't matter how it seems. Yes, it hurts. Yes, it's uncomfortable. No, it's not unavoidable. Nope that doesn't make a difference. You're right. It's not fair. But let me remind you, God is greater. God is greater than insert blank...your feelings, your doubt, your diagnosis, your circumstance. It doesn't matter what you put in that space. Say it with me. God is greater! You're welcome.
Glory
Glory noun 1.high renown or honor won by notable achievements. 2. magnificence or great beauty. verb 1. take great pride or pleasure in. The Hebrew word "kavod" which is used for glory in the Old Testament has the simple meaning of "heaviness" or "weight." It brings a new meaning to the phrase, "throw your weight around." What if you literally threw your glory around? Some people drop names and titles with the expectation of glory. What if we gave God glory like we give ourselves or others we respect and admire? What if we felt the weight of true glory? What if we gave honor where honor was due? What if we gave people their flowers while they were still alive? What if we valued things that didn't give carnal pleasure? What if we saw God in his true majesty and glory? What if we saw that same God and his glory in ourselves?

I am a very visual person. If I can see it, I can do it. I’m really big about vision boards. I think it’s important to create. I’m a creative. I think that there things that come to your mind when you experience certain things. For example, songs can transport you to a different place and time. Smells can trigger memories. So, a token could be a tangible example of who you are in someone’s life. It’s your brand. It’s symbolic. It’s your logo. Who do people say you are? What do be people feel after they encounter your spirit? In Matthew 16, Christ asked his disciples, “who do you say I am?” Who would people say you are? What’s your token?
Talent
Proverbs 18:16 Kjv A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.
Gifts. Things you’re good at. Things that come easy to you. Something you would do for free. These are all your talents. What are you doing with your talent? Are you honing your skill? Are you burying your gift? The Bible says, “your gift will make room for you.” So, let it. Walk in it. Put it on full display for the world to see. Give it away. Make someone pay for it. Just use it, before you lose it.
Tenth
I heard a sermon about ten lepers that were healed by Jesus, and only one came back to say thank you. In college, I was exposed to the concept of the “talented tenth” by W.E.B. Du Bois. Biblically, God requires a tithe equal to ten percent. There are ten commandments. There were ten plagues. Ten is often used to symbolize perfection, harmony, or creation. Its also a number of integration, discipline, laws and wholeness. I think ten represents gratitude. Only a tenth of the lepers were grateful. Only a tenth were chosen to lead. Only a tenth is required to sacrifice. Only a tenth of the plagues were immediately fatal. Most of us follow about a tenth of the commandments. Yet still, God continues to bless us despite what we do with our tenth. What are you doing with your tenth?
